Version 3: Core Data Structures Roles and Responsibilities
Core Data Structures (CDS) reports to the MISMO Architecture Workgroup (AWG).
CDS is composed of 2 appointed representatives from each of the MISMO Residential Process Area Workgroups and from AWG.
- It would be desirable for at least one of the representatives to have a working knowledge of the MISMO V3 Architecture. Knowledge of data modeling would also be desirable if that skill set exists within the group.
- At least one of the representatives or a substitute must be present at all meetings and conference calls.
- The appointed representatives may invite additional members of their workgroup to participate in CDS meetings and conference calls to support the current work.
- Formal voting is limited to the appointed representatives and one vote per Workgroup is allowed.
- General consensus is determined based on the representatives in attendance.
CDS is the owner of the Logical Data Dictionary (LDD) and of the Version 3 Reference Model. (V3RM).
- CDS is responsible for ensuring that additions and changes to the LDD and V3RM are in compliance with the MEGs describing the V3 Architecture. The V3 MEGs are owned by AWG.
- CDS is responsible for making the final determination on the appropriate placement of new data and containers in the V3RM.
- CDS will review and approve all additions and changes to the LDD and the V3RM.
CDS will be responsible for overseeing the reconciliation of the Version 2 constructs into the V3RM
- CDS will maintain a list of structures to be reconciled and the host group to which the work has been assigned.
- Individual Process Workgroups may host / lead the reconciliation of selected constructs or topic groupings.
- Prior to beginning any reconciliation work the host group must advise CDS of the following:
- Description of the structure(s) that are being worked
- Recommend list of WGs to participate in the reconciliation and if appropriate names of suggested individuals to participate.
- CDS will coordinate with MBA staff to provide to the host group the appropriate Contivo files.
- Results of all reconciliation work will be captured in Contivo Builder. This is the only accepted format for submission to CDS for review and approval.
- MBA staff will provide Contivo training/support when necessary
- Upon approval to proceed, the host is responsible for sending notification of the work to be completed and of all meetings and conference calls to the new V3 Reconciliation Listserv (and potentially other listservs as appropriate). Reconciliation work will be open to all.
- Reconciliation participants may bring issues or questions to CDS for discussion / decision as needed. It is assumed that reconciliation will be an iterative process and interactive process.
- Once consensus is reached in the host group that work is complete, it is submitted to CDS for final review.
- The host group may also provide recommendations to CDS on the appropriate placement of the reconciled structure(s) into the V3RM.
AWG is responsible for reviewing and approving all work of CDS prior to publication of a version release.
