UploadRevisedDocument

Use Case: Upload Revised Document

Actors

  • Loan Processor
  • Loan Origination System (LOS)
  • Electronic Content Management Repository (ECM)

Description
A loan processor requests the upload of a revised document version to an existing loan transaction folder in a document repository.

Assumptions and Preconditions

  • The Loan Processor is properly set up in both the LOS and the ECM, and has access rights assigned to her user accounts for both.
  • The LOS has produced or has access to a revised version of a document within set of document files related to a particular loan transaction, in a standard format.
  • The LOS has persisted the name of the folder where the revised document exists within the ECM.
  • The Loan Processor is logged into the LOS and has selected a document to be sent.

Postconditions
A new revision of the specified document file, together with any metadata needed to search for the new revision, are stored and accessible on the ECM.

Normal Flow

  1. The Processor selects the loan transaction that contains the revised document.
  2. The Processor selects an option to send the revised document to the ECM.
  3. The LOS creates a MISMO-compliant request to the ECM.
    1. The LOS logs into the ECM using credentials provided by the Processor.
    2. The ECM grants access to the LOS and provides permission to its repository.
    3. The LOS sends a message including the following:
      • The location and name of the folder containing the existing document.
      • The embedded or referenced content stream and any revised metadata for the replacing document.
      • If supported, versioning instructions
    4. If supported, the ECM adds the new content to the repository as a version update to the existing document and marks it as the latest version. Otherwise, it replaces the existing document with the new one.
    5. The ECM returns MISMO-compliant response, including the status of each step of its process, and any version labels it has created to identify a new document version.
  4. The LOS displays the status of the upload request to the Processor.
