Version 3.0 Mission
The following tools are used by MIMSO 3.0 activities:
- Lyris Email Listserv:
- General communication
- Meeting Announcements (actual agendas and documents will be linked to in the body of the e-mail rather than being attached)
- Wiki:
- Meeting Agendas (with links to documents in Sharepoint)
- Meeting Minutes (with links to documents and/or issues discussed)
- Task List (where assigned tasks are kept track of)
- Issue Log (where issues, resolutions ,and discussions regarding these will be kept).
- Discussion Topics
- Parking Lot (where topics are parked that need future discussion. .i.e. we know about this, but will address it later).
- Sharepoint:
- All documents (word docs, pdfs, excel files, etc.)
- Schemas and Contivo Files
- Excel:
- The Workgroup will use Excel to manage data points for the new proposed 3.x transactions until they are defined. This was decided because people were much more comfortable and familiar with Excel. This will not be the permanent solution, but a temporary tool used to more rapidly accomplish workgroup tasks.
- Contivo Builder: this will be used after the workgroup has determined all the business issues and data points necessary for a transaction.

Why are we here? What problems does 3.x address? What are we trying to accomplish?
3.x High Level Concepts
What are the main concepts that underly the 3.x approach? How do these (high level, understandable by non-technical people) concepts map to concrete technical designs in MEGs?
- Common Model (consistent usage and structure to the extent possible across process areas. Push to allow consistency, use software re-use, data mapping re-use)
- Extensibility (clear and easy mechanisms to adapt the model to new purposes - whether to support new workgroups and transactions sets at the MISMO level or to allow member companies to use MISMO more effectively internally)
- Relationships (Use of more flexible mechanisms to support the complex relationships among major data elements in various transaction sets)
- Internationalization (Support for internationalization)
- Annotations (Addition of clarifying/qualifying information to existing data points)
- Security and Privacy (Support for granular data access controls)
- Modernity (upgrades to more modern and state of the art technologies (dtd → schemas, etc)
- Organizational Alignment (Process enhancements to allow more efficient production of process area standards)
